KSW23 – Report sul match “Mamed Khalidov vs Melvin Manhoef”
“Per questo incontro mi sono preparato al meglio nella mia palestra Arrachion Olsztyn.Ho lavorato molto con l’aiuto del mio amico russo Dmitrij Smolakow,ottimo atleta della lotta libera,e con Tomasz Makowski,pluri-Campione del mondo di K-1 e muay thai” – così parlava Mamed Khalidov della sua preparazione alla vigilia del match contro il “re olandese dei knockout” Melvin Manhoef.
L’incontro inizia con diversi scambi veloci tra i due ,che continuano a rimanere in piedi;Mamed Khalidov cerca di far sentire uno dei suoi calci rotanti sul viso di Melvin che,poco dopo,commette un errore fatale:porta la testa sotto il braccio di Khalidov,che sicuramente non si fa pregare per eseguire una guillotine choke.A quel punto Melvin non può far altro che arrendersi e constatare che non sarà “la nuova stella della scena polacca” come dichiarava di voler diventare.
– Commento di Khalidov dopo l’incontro: “Non era esattamente questo il piano che avevo per l’incontro;avevo l’opportunità di farlo quando Melvin aveva messo la sua testa sotto al braccio.Io volevo combattere in piedi e il piano era quello di stancare Melvin e poi,nel secondo round,cercare di buttarlo a terra;nel corso dell’incontro i miei allenatori avevano cambiato idea e mi hanno urlato da bordo ring che quello era il momento di farlo (la guillotine choke).In un primo momento non riuscivo a prenderlo bene ma poi Melvin ha commesso l’errore di mettere la testa sotto la mia ascella e l’ho chiuso.Melvin è uno degli avversari più pericolosi che io abbia mai avuto:se mi prendeva bene quando eravamo in piedi,avrei sicuramente “dormito””.
– Commeto di Manhoef dopo l’incontro: “Mi scuso perchè sono molto deluso.Volevo combattere in piedi ma mi sono fatto prendere nella ghigliottina e non sono contento del mio incontro.Nei primi minuti volevo vedere come sono i suoi calci rotanti,lo aspettavo perchè avevo una mia tattica,che poi non è servita.Devo rivedere l’incontro e vedere cosa non ha funzionato.Non mi sono allenato molto per difendermi dalla ghigliottina perchè pensavo attaccasse,ad esempio, la gamba.La mia tattica era quella di metterlo sotto pressione”.
